For those who do not know me, let me briefly introduce myself and share with you how Vold Vision is the fulfillment of a life-long dream. I am a man of humble beginnings who grew up in Flandreau, South Dakota. My father served our small, rural community as a minister and my mother as a piano teacher. Both instilled in me the value of hard work, life-long learning and caring for others. Through my early life experiences, I developed a genuine love of people, and an intense desire to make my life count for something significant.
Over the years, I have been blessed to have many people invest in me. As a high school student, working as an orderly in the local nursing home provided me my first exposure to patient care and planted the seeds for my pursuit of a medical career. While at the University of Minnesota Medical School in Minneapolis, I was exposed to how a career in ophthalmology could be so rewarding. While at Northwestern University in Chicago, renowned glaucoma surgeons Lisa Rosenberg, Jon Ruderman and Ted Krupin had profound positive influence on the direction of my professional career. While serving as a faculty member at the Texas A&M University Health Science Center at Scott & White, tremendous learning opportunities in leadership and tertiary patient care helped shape my career. My time at Boozman-Hof Regional Eye Clinic, P.A. was very beneficial to me as well. Because of these experiences, I feel we are on the verge of accomplishing something very special together.
Recently, we have been afforded the opportunity to develop not only a quality ophthalmology practice, but also an ophthalmology research and innovation center. The focus of our efforts is to serve you to the best of our abilities. We are widely recognized by our peers as thought leaders in ophthalmology, and train physicians in ophthalmic clinical care and research all over the world. We are thrilled to bring you the absolute best in cutting-edge technology and subspecialty care. We are humbled and honored that you and patients from around the country and world would visit us for their ophthalmic care needs as well. We feel extremely fortunate to have been given the privilege to practice medicine, and will do all we can to serve you to the best of our abilities. By working together with you, we hope to leave a lasting positive legacy on our profession and our patients.

At Vold Vision, we define organizational success by the quality of patient personal experience and care. Although we seek to be fiscally responsible, our focus is on making our patients and employees feel uniquely special and highly valued. We will not view individuals as commodities as we strive to surpass the standard and rise above mediocrity. We will give our best to serve our mission and, in doing so, will provide for your mutual happiness and well-being.
In addition, we also are committed to bringing you the most innovative and advanced ophthalmic care available anywhere in the world. Superior surgical and medical outcomes are viewed as mandatory at Vold Vision. As influential leaders in our field, our doctors can provide you advanced technologies not provided by most physicians. We want our ultimate legacy to be one that reflects a commitment to enhancing the lives of people, investing in our community and advancing our profession. “Your Sight is Our Vision” is much more than a catch phrase to us; it reflects the heart of our entire organization. We are deeply grateful to you for helping us make our vision become reality.
2. We treat others how we want to be treated. We deal with issues directly. We never pass anything on about anybody else that will hurt him or her.
3. We choose a positive attitude. Circumstances largely do not determine whether or not we will be successful or enjoy life. Our response to our circumstances does.
4. We embrace transparency and accountability in every aspect of life. We will hire good people, define their roles, and give them the support and freedom to succeed.
5. We give our best efforts in all we do. Keep doing the ordinary things better than anyone else. Be uncommon. Do what we do. Champions are champions not because they do anything extraordinary, but because they do the ordinary things better than anyone else.
