Michael R. McFarland O.D. is a board certified optometric physician. His special interests include glaucoma, clinical research, and refractive surgical care.

Dr. McFarland received his undergraduate degree from Pittsburg State University where he competed in football and track. He graduated from the St. Louis College of Optometry in 2009 at the top of his class. He has received numerous scholarships and academic awards including the Norman E. Wallis Excellence Award for achieving the highest optometry board score in the country. In December of 2012, he completed a one-year residency at Vold Vision specializing in glaucoma.

Dr. McFarland is a member of the American Optometric Associations and the Arkansas Optometric Association. He has published in “Glaucoma Today”, a leading national glaucoma publication for physicians. Dr. McFarland is currently working toward a Master’s Degree in Clinical Vision Research through NOVA Southeastern University College of Optometry.

Dr. McFarland currently resides in Fayetteville with his wife Libby and son Maxwell. In his spare time he enjoys golfing, fishing, and working out.
