Brendon W. Cox, Optometrist at Vold Vision

Meet Dr. Cox

Dr. Brendon W. Cox, Doctor of Optometry, is the newest member to join the medical team at Vold Vision. A graduate of Southwest Baptist University and the University of Missouri in St. Louis, Dr. Cox is happy to be joining Vold Vision in Northwest Arkansas as a skilled optometrist. After his formal education, Dr. Cox completed many optometry externships further sharpening his skills in primary care optometry, ocular disease, low vision, refractive surgery, pediatrics, vision therapy, and more. At home, Dr. Cox enjoys playing golf, attending concerts, and watching sports, especially Royals baseball, Chiefs football, and Arkansas Razorback athletics.

Specialties and Skills

Along with his formal education at the University of Missouri in St. Louis, Dr. Cox completed many optometry externships that improved his skills in primary care optometry, ocular disease, low vision, refractive surgery, pediatrics, vision therapy, and more. Dr. Cox performs many optometry services at Vold Vision including eye exams, eye injury/disease treatment, vision correction, and pediatric vision care. Dr. Cox looks forward to helping families in Northwest Arkansas take control of their eye health and vision.

Education and Training

Dr. Cox earned his undergraduate degree in biology from Southwest Baptist University, followed by his Doctorate of Optometry (OD) from the University of Missouri in St. Louis (UMSL). After earning his degrees, Dr. Cox gained practical experience and skills with several optometry externships, including one at Vold Vision with a focus in ocular disease, refractive surgery, as well as pre- and post-operative surgical care. Other externships performed by Dr. Cox were at the Memphis Veteran's Association (VA) at the Optometry Clinic with a focus in ocular disease, low vision, and primary care optometry; Myrtle H. Davis Health Center in St. Louis with a focus in primary care optometry; the University of Missouri St. Louis Eye Center with a focus in contact lenses, pediatrics, and vision therapy; and the Chickasaw Nation Medical Center Optometry Clinic with a focus on ocular disease and primary care optometry.

Philanthropy

Dr. Cox has used his optometry skills to help many organizations provide free eye screenings, including the Missouri Special Olympics, Back to School Health Screening in St. Louis, UMSL Health Fair. Dr. Cox has also worked with many charities and community service activities including the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
