LASIK Offers Patient Freedom from the Struggle of Wearing Glasses and Face Mask

During this unforeseen time, we are all adjusting to the new normal of wearing face masks and fighting the urge to touch our face. The population of glasses and contact lens wears are now facing additional obstacles with these societal changes. Recently, the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) suggested for people to give their contact lenses a break and switch into their dreaded glasses. This announcement has forced former contact lenses wearers into uncomfortable territory.

Two of our Vold Vision LASIK patients, Stephen Medeiros and Sheena Arnold, like many contact lens users, didn’t feel comfortable in glasses and wanted to take the necessary precautionary measures to minimize the amount of times they touch their face. They also shared the struggle of their glasses fogging up because of wearing a face mask. Stephen and Sheena are now seeing 20/20 and are free from contacts and glasses after making the life-changing decision to get LASIK. Sheena shared, “Just knowing that I don’t have to worry about my glasses fogging up and having to touch my eyes throughout the day is just an added bonus for me getting LASIK.”
