Meet Dr. Heymann
Vold Vision is proud to introduce our newest surgeon, Dr. Hans Barron Heymann. Dr. Heymann is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in oculoplastic, reconstructive, and cosmetic facial surgery; he will round out a team of nine doctors at Vold Vision.
Dr. Heymann’s practice will focus on surgical treatments for medical problems of the eyelids, tear ducts, and orbit, as well as offer surgical procedures to enhance the appearance of the eyelids and brow. Additionally, he will perform a variety of in-office aesthetic facial treatments such as Botox or Xeomin, used to relax fine lines and wrinkles in the face, and facial fillers like Juvederm, Radiesse, and Belotero, used to rejuvenate areas of depleted facial volume and soften the effects of aging.
“Our team is beyond excited to welcome Dr. Heymann to our practice and to Northwest Arkansas,” said Dr. Steven Vold, chief medical officer at Vold Vision. “With a mission to continue advancing eye care across our region, Dr. Heymann is another strategic and key addition to our team. The impact he will make in the lives of our patients is going to be tremendous.”
Specialties & Skills
Dr. Heymann will perform a wide breadth of surgeries and procedures. Among the most common are blepharoplasty and ptosis repair to correct droopy eyelids and improve vision. A blepharoplasty removes sagging skin from the eyelids to restore a youthful look and improve peripheral vision. A ptosis repair lifts the edge of a drooping eyelid and restores it to its normal position out of the line of sight. Dr. Heymann will also perform brow lifts, remove lid lesions (such as styes, skin tags, and skin cancers), repair blocked tear ducts, correct eyelids that are turned inward (entropion) or away from the eye (ectropion), treat patients with orbital and eyelid trauma, and evaluate patients with thyroid eye disease.
Education & Training
Dr. Heymann has undergone extensive training to provide the highest level of care to his patients. He underwent two years of additional subspecialty training following residency and completed two fellowships: an oculoplastic surgery fellowship accredited by the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and a cosmetic surgery fellowship accredited by the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery. He has completed a residency in ophthalmology at Northwestern Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago, and he attended the University of Texas at Austin where he graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in history and a minor in biology.
During medical school, Dr. Heymann traveled to West Africa to help local doctors treat preventable blindness by screening patients for cataract surgery in outreach clinics. He hopes to continue to deliver free care to underserved populations throughout his career.
Dr. Heymann and his wife are excited to be in NWA and have settled into the area. Dr. Heymann shared, “I can now officially say, I have attended my first Arkansas Razorback game and learned to call the Hogs. It has been great to begin meeting people in the community and look forward to meeting many more.”
