If Jerry Meredith could share two words with those struggling with cataracts it would be, “Don’t Wait.”
It was Jerry’s fear of losing his ability to drive that eventually led him to be rid of his cataracts. At first, he was having trouble seeing at night, and then rainy and cloudy days became hard. “I had some close calls while driving,” Jerry shared. “I had heard a lot of good things about Dr. Vold, and I knew it was time to go see him.”
After his cataract surgery, Jerry is glad to report he is now FREE from wearing glasses. “It’s an amazing thing! I can see street signs again, and I can actually make out what they say. And, colors are so vibrant! The trees and flowers – colors in general are alive again.”
It’s estimated that 20.5 million Americans age 40 and older are affected by cataracts. “As we age, our lenses will naturally become at least a bit cloudy,” said Dr. Steven Vold. “When cataracts begin to interfere with a patient’s ability to drive, read or continue with normal life activities, cataract surgery will likely be the best option for them.”
The decision on where to go for cataract removal should not be made lightly. At Vold Vision, we offer the most advanced technology with experienced surgeons. “There is no one size fits all approach in cataract surgery,” Dr. Vold said. “We have invested in technology that allows our team to customize each procedure specifically to the patient.”
