"I have been dealing with Glaucoma for the past 25 years. I was put under the care of Dr. Laura Voicu at the Jules Stein Eye Institute at UCLA. She treated me for 18 months and performed Trabeculectomy surgeries on both eyes. Both surgeries were very successful. Dr. Voicuis a very compassionate, knowledgeable, and caring Physician and Surgeon. She is very thorough and carefully explains all aspects of your care. Of the numerous Doctors that have treated my Glaucoma she stands above the rest.Outstanding. I highly recommend Dr. Voicu for the treatment of Glaucoma."- T.D. / Google / Oct 30, 2017

"I got the SMILE procedure done at Vold Vision. Everyone at Vold Vision was tremendous. Their professionalism and kindness were unmatched compared to other medical facilities I have experienced in the past. They walked me through the procedure instilling confidence along this journey. The wonderful staff made me feel comfortable throughout the entire experience. My eyesight was terrible and just the next day after the procedure I could see perfectly! 10/10 would recommend!"- M.C. / Google / Oct 13, 2020
"After wearing corrective lenses for 26 years, I’m now free!!!! Just 4 hours after my procedure and I can see without blurriness or corrective lenses!! The entire process was easy. The staff was amazing! Everybody was extremely friendly and seemed to genuinely love their jobs! I highly recommend this company to anybody for all your vision needs!!! I should’ve done this years ago!!!"- B.G. / Facebook / Oct 01, 2020
"I got SMILE surgery almost a year ago and it has been life changing! I’m a professional track athlete and my contacts always seemed to be a bother whether it was during practice or traveling. But now I don’t have to worry about contacts, contact solution or having to pack extra contacts. The surgery took less than 15 minutes and was pain free with very little to NO down time after surgery. If you are someone that has worn glasses and contacts all your life you should definitely consider getting a free consult to see if you’re a candidate for Lasik eye surgery."- P.C. / Google / Sep 29, 2020

Frequently Asked Questions
What is Clear Lens Exchange?
Clear Lens Exchange replaces your eye’s clear natural lens with the PanOptix® intraocular lens to correct your refractive error and achieve sharper focus, reducing your need for reading glasses or bifocals.
Will I feel the lens in my eye like a contact?
No, it’s not like a contact as the lens does not sit on the surface of the eye but on the inside of the eye.
If I have this done now, will I eventually develop cataracts & need cataract surgery?
No, you will not develop cataracts after having clear lens exchange. In fact, CLE negates the patient from ever developing cataracts. Patients love the fact that CLE offers this one and done opportunity to be glasses free.
Is CLE an outpatient procedure?
Yes it is, and it only takes a few minutes to complete in the hands of our skilled surgeon. We also utilize cutting edge technology, taking both safety and efficacy to the absolute highest levels.
Why Would I have CLE vs. LASIK?
The Visual Outcome: For patients over 40 who are nearing or experiencing presbyopia, (the need for reading glasses) LASIK will only correct for distance vision, while CLE will help the patient see at a distance, up-close and intermediate offering a full range of vision.
Longer-Lasting Results: LASIK is a great option for most patients; however, as we age we all will develop cataracts, so to stay out of glasses and contacts someone who has had LASIK will have to invest again when their cataracts begin to form. The good news for you is with our CLE procedure, you will never develop cataracts, so by investing in CLE you are investing in your eyes for life.
How Long Does it Last?
The artificial intraocular lens is a permanent replacement for your natural lens and is designed to last the rest of your life. There is minimal risk of regression (loss of corrective effect or deterioration of vision) over time.
Is it Safe?
Lens surgery is the most commonly performed surgery in the U. S. and arguably one of the safest procedures today with efficacy exceeding 99% in most clinical studies. In the clinical study on the PanOptix lens we use, 99% of people with this lens would choose it over again. As with any surgery, CLE involves a degree of risk. Every patient considering CLE is encouraged to independently research the procedure. Our doctors give patients the information regarding those risks and answer any questions that they may have and perform a thorough evaluation to determine if the patient is a recommended candidate for CLE.
Are there any side effects?
Patients may see some glare and halos around lights after the procedure. Most patients adapt and it becomes a non-issue within a few months. For most patients who already notice glare and halos they do not notice this at all.
Does it Correct Astigmatism?
Are there any restrictions after the procedure?
No contact sports, swimming or eye make-up for one week. There is no flight or lifting restrictions.
