Routine eye examinations can take anywhere from 30 – 90 minutes, while a typical eye checkup takes about 30 minutes. Patients over 40 years old should have their eyes checked every 2 – 4 years, while those under the age of 40 should have an eye checkup and exam every couple of years. • Teens

Most kids will have an eye exam long before they reach their teens, but studies show that between the ages of 8 - 12 is when nearsightedness becomes more prevalent. The eyes do not actually reach maturity until around 18 years of age. During these important growing and developmental years, annual eye exams are recommended. At Vold Vision, we love working with our teens and thus have designed a teen program to meet the needs of patients during these changing years. • Young Adults

If you are between the age of 20 - 40, you are considered a young adult and while these years are often marked with good physical health, the eyes can still change and slowly decline. In this age group, common vision problems include nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism. Thankfully, there are many options including glasses and contact lens, however, we often recommend laser vision correction surgery which many patients in this age group love. Why? • Middle Age
