Our experienced team at Vold Vision is on a mission to not only provide unmatched retinal care but to do so with such a level of compassion that you’ll feel like part of the family instead of just another patient. This is especially crucial when dealing with emotions surrounding the onset of retinal issues such as age-related macular degeneration or diabetic retinopathy.
"1 week ago today I had the SMILE procedure done at Vold Vision. BEST. DECISION. EVER! 1 day post op I had 20/20 vision! I never thought I’d see the day where I didn’t wake up scrambling around to find my glasses just to make it to the bathroom to put in my contacts for a 12hr shift at the hospital, but here we are and I couldn’t be more thankful!
The entire staff at Vold has been amazing! The front desk staff always greets me with a warm and positive attitude. John in scheduling worked with me to get pre op testing, surgery date, and post op appointments made that were perfect for me and my work schedule. Dr. Moser saw me for my pre op testing and has been following my progress during the post op period. She is incredibly knowledgeable and has answered all of my questions/concerns thus far! And last, but not least, Dr. Vold on surgery day was phenomenal! Even though the procedure itself is very quick, he continuously reassured me and kept the experience very calming and relaxing. He mentioned multiple times how excited he was for me and I cannot thank him enough for giving me this new and much improved vision!
10/10 definitely recommend Dr. Vold & his entire team!"- M.L. / Facebook / May 26, 2021

"I had an eye that looked off to the side, had double vision and loss of depth perception for approx 18 years and it continually worsened. I had been told by my optomerist and an opthomologist that performed cataract surgery on me, that there was nothing that could be done. Thanks to Google, I self diagnosed Adult Strabismus and found Dr. Napier by searching for Strabismus specialist. We had our first appointment on April 27 and she performed the surgery yesterday, May 13. Twenty four hours later my vision is near perfect. I am not seeing double, tv is very clear, depth perception is back where it should be and I am able to walk without running into objects. The results are so much better than I ever expected. Dr. Napier is absolutely fantastic as well as Hannah and April. On a scale of 1-5, I give them a 6!!"- J.P. / Facebook / May 13, 2021
"I had a wonderful experience at Vold Vision! I had the Clear Lens exchange procedure and it is great to be free of reading glasses! I no longer have to find where I left my glasses all day long!"- A.J. / Facebook / May 10, 2021
With over 7 million cones, up to 150 million rods, three layers of nerve cells, and two layers of synapses – all packed into a complex membrane a half-millimeter thick, the retina is unbelievably complex. As a result, many things can and do go wrong with it for many people. AMD, or age-related macular degeneration, is the most common cause of blindness for people over the age of 65. Diabetic retinopathy, on the other hand, causes more blindness in people under the age of 65 than any other retinal issue. Other common conditions include retinal vascular occlusions, flashes and floaters, retinal tears and detachments, macular pucker, macular holes, vitreomacular traction, and uveitis.
The main benefit of treating eye disorders is that we can focus directly on the affected area. This reduces side-effects that could harm or affect another area of the eye. After a thorough eye exam and diagnosis, many patients are able to use medication to start their treatment if the disease has not advanced. AMD is commonly treated with an intravitreal injection which doesn’t hurt, thanks to the application of topical anesthesia. There are many types of medical injections that can be used and many provide effective results in keeping the condition at bay. Other forms of treatment, such as scleral buckle, is a silicone buckle used to directly treat retinal detachments. Other conditions are treatable with surgery or Vold Vision’s advanced micro-pulse green diode laser which eliminates the issue of blind spots. Laser photocoagulation like this is commonly used, with Vold’s pinpoint accuracy, to also treat retinal tears and detachments or diabetic retinopathy. Other types of retinal treatments include cryotherapy and ultrasonography.
