We are proud to be a part of the Central Florida community, and we believe that part of providing quality vision care is giving back to the people we serve.
As part of our commitment to the health and wellness of our patients, we partner with Central Florida Dreamplex. This local nonprofit works tirelessly to meet the needs of individuals with physical, developmental, and/or intellectual disabilities.
Dreamplex serves families with special needs in the Greater Orlando area by creating opportunities, programs, and environments to meet their fitness, recreational, social, and employment needs. Dreamplex is working to make the community a better place and is one of the reasons Dr. Vold chose to move to the area with his daughter, Sarah, who has Down syndrome.
Dr. Vold has always been greatly involved in the community and since his arrival in Florida he has been focused on giving back. He has a personal connection to Dreamplex and that is why this amazing organization is so important to him.
The Friendship Place
A Dremplex Program
As part of our partnership Dreamplex, the team at Vold Vision is proud to support The Friendship Place, a Dreamplex program which Dr. Vold’s daughter attends. The Friendship Place provides Sarah and other adults with disabilities a safe and engaging daytime environment to meet their mental, social, and healthcare needs while providing respite to caregivers. Participants also gain hands-on vocational training at The Friendship Place Café – a cozy shop serving coffee, pastries, and other light bites.
The Friendship Place attendees have direct and immediate access to physical, speech, and occupational therapy services, as well as recreation and fitness programs to ensure healthy minds, bodies, and souls. Vold Vision is excited to have created a partnership with an organization whose values and mission align with our own.
Dr. Vold is comforted knowing his daughter has a safe and nurturing place to learn and form friendships while he is at work, and he is personally committed to do all he can to keep it up and running as The Friendship Place is fully funded by donations.
The Central Florida Dreamplex hosts a variety of events throughout the year to bring the community together while promoting opportunities, health, and inclusion of people of
all abilities.
