Selecting the right glasses or sunglasses to accentuate the shape of your face can be a bit challenging. With ten common face shapes that people tend to have ranging from oval, square, and heart-shaped to diamond, oblong and round, it’s understanding why people get overwhelmed in picking the best style for them.
Dr. Emma Hendricks, Vold Vision optometrist, has a few quick tips and tricks to help you determine your face shape and from there understand how to balance your face with a frame. She explains, “First, look at your jawline and forehead to see if they are more circular or angular. The shape of these two features are the determining factors to the overall shape of your face. She shared, “If your face is more circular then you will be looking for angular or square shapes, verses if your face if more angular you want to steer away from square/rectangle and look for more to rounded frames. This is the jumping off point to picking out the perfect frames.”
Investing in a new pair of frames whether it be a pair of sunglasses for the summer sun or an everyday pair of optical glasses can be expensive, making it even more important to select a pair that matches your style yet compliments your features. Dr. Hendricks invites anyone in that would like to determine their face shape to come into our optical department and speak with one of our optical specialists. We have a wide variety of frames to try on and find you the perfect pair.
