What is Vision Correction Surgery?

Vision correction surgery is any surgical procedure that is performed to correct refractive errors. The most common vision correction surgeries are laser procedures like LASIK and SMILE. Dr. Vold and his team at Vold Vision will determine the best course of action to help you achieve your goals. Unlike laser vision correction, other surgical vision correction procedures can be done for patients older than 40 to correct presbyopia.

Using PanOptix® Lens, clear lens exchange (CLE) replaces your natural lens with a synthetic lens to restore your sight and reduce your need for glasses or other corrective lenses. CLE can help restore close, intermediate, and distance vision for the rest of your life.

The appointments take 5-10 minutes, and you return to normal activities in 24 hours. Since CLE replaces your natural lens, you have no risk of developing cataracts.

Using a collagen copolymer lens, EVO ICL replaces your natural lens with a soft contact lens with small amounts of purified collagen and an ultraviolet light filter. If you need to remove the implant for any reason, EVO ICL is completely reversible.

The procedure takes 15-20 minutes, and you return to most normal activities within 24-48 hours. EVO ICL is best for those between the ages of 25 and 45 and can improve the vision of a wide range of prescriptions.

Vision correction surgery may be the best option for those unable to receive laser vision correction due to age, condition, or other factors. To determine which vision correction surgery is best for you, please schedule a consultation with a physician at Vold Vision.
