With hundreds of designer frames, the latest lens technology, and a full range of contact lenses at Vold Vision’s optical department, you’re sure to find the perfect fit. Our leading optician, Rick Rakotz, and his team provide a personalized experience to ensure you get the look, comfort, and vision clarity you need with your glasses or contacts.
What is the Optical Shop?
Vold Vision proudly offers one of the most respected optical centers in the state of Arkansas, Vold Vision by Design. Our full-service optical department houses various optical needs paired with the most advanced technology available to enhance any lifestyle.
For your appointment, one of our qualified eye doctors will measure your prescription in diopters–the unit of measurement for glasses and contact lens prescriptions. Perfect or 20/20 vision would be 0.0 diopters.
Adding a minus sign, “-,” in front of the prescription signifies that the patient is myopic or nearsighted, meaning objects at a distance are blurry. In contrast, adding an addition sign, “+,” before a prescription shows that the patient is hyperopia or farsighted, meaning objects near are blurry, while distance is clear. A healthy change for a pediatric patient would be about 0.50D per year.
After measuring your prescription, you may visit the glasses shop to choose your frames. At Vold Vision, we pride ourselves on providing our patients a complete personalized experience when shopping our collection of eyeglasses, sunglasses, and contacts.
How Does the Optical Shop Work?
Our optical shop houses many different prescription eyewear and contacts.
While eyeglasses have been around for years, new technologies and digital surfacing imaging allow our experts to offer a high level of customization. Providing your eyes with high-quality lenses can be a game-changer for your daily life.
Whether you spend the day focusing on electronic devices or struggle when driving at night, we have the technology to help your eyes see clearly with ease. It’s time to relax your eyes and let the lenses do the work.
When cultivating Vold Vision by Design, we prioritized providing the Northwest Arkansas community with various options to fit their visual goals, style, and budgets. Additionally, Vold Vision has the only Pediatric Ophthalmologist in Northwest Arkansas.
We are proud retailers of Miraflex, the most functional and safe eyeglasses for babies and children, and American Eyewear, based out of Nashville, TN. With the purchase of each frame, you help support not just a fellow American but an American that needs a second chance.
Take your eye care one step further with our sunglass collection! Sunglasses are a vital component to protect your eyes from the sun’s harmful UV rays. To make life easier, we also offer prescription sunglasses from various designers in bifocals, progressives, and distance.
After a thorough eye examination by one of our Vold Vision optometrists, we will discuss if contact lenses are the appropriate solution to help you reach your visual goals. Contacts are an excellent way to see the world clearly without the nuisance of glasses, but every contact lens wearer should have glasses to oxygenate their eyes at night.
Vold Vision offers soft and specialty contact lenses to treat certain eye diseases. Our selection of contact lenses includes:
- Daily Wear Contact Lenses
- Daily Disposable Contact Lenses
- Astigmatism Contact Lenses
- Multifocal Contact Lenses
- Scleral Contact Lenses
