Research is critical in any medical field. In eye care, many procedures and diseases such as glaucoma, cataracts, and macular degeneration do not yet have a cure. We at Vold Vision hope to find an effective treatment so we can treat people earlier and offer better procedures or pharmaceutical therapy.

Our team has conducted numerous clinical trials for glaucoma, cataracts, and refractive type procedures. At any given time, we run 6 to 12 clinical trials. One of the many benefits of having a clinical research facility in Northwest Arkansas is that our patients have access to procedures and pharmaceutical therapy they would not receive anywhere else.

Our research team is humbled and honored to have helped usher in groundbreaking procedures like the XEN Gel Stent. Our patients and doctors involved in these studies enabled advanced glaucoma care for future generations.

Patients are evaluated for our research studies in our regular clinic. Our doctors screen patients and let them know if they qualify. Patients are typically eager to be a candidate, including benefits such as new innovative treatment, reduced cost of care, and some receiving a stipend for participating in studies. If you are interested in participating, please call our office and ask to speak with our research coordinators, Corinna or Iryna.
