Dr. John A. Billingsley III, M.D., is an experienced ophthalmologist with three decades of experience, specializing in functional and cosmetic oculoplastics and medical retina. 

Meet Dr. Billingsley

Dr. John A. Billingsley III, M.D. is an experienced ophthalmologist working in both group and solo settings. Dr. Billingsley has served the Northwest Arkansas community as an ophthalmologist for almost 30 years. Dr. Billingsley maintains diverse surgical skills in cataract/ anterior segment surgery to medical retina, oculoplastics (both functional and cosmetic), Botox, and fillers.

Dr. Billingsley is particularly skilled in diverse surgical skills in cataract/ anterior segment surgery, medical retina, oculoplastics (both functional and cosmetic), Botox, and fillers. Additionally, he is experienced with Zeiss Angioplex technology. 

Dr. Billingsley briefly attended Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College before transferring to the University of Arkansas where he graduated in 1984 with an undergraduate degree in Bacteriology. Afterward, Dr. Billingsley attended Creighton University School of Pharmacy and Allied Health Professions in Omaha before transferring to the Oklahoma College of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery in Tulsa. Eventually, Dr. Billingsley graduated as a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Missouri Kansas City School of Medicine in 1991, designated as class speaker of his graduating class. From there, Dr. Billingsley went on to complete his internship at the University of Missouri Kansas City School of Medicine before completing his residency at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center and as Chief Resident at the VA Medical Center in Oklahoma City. 

After completing his residency in 1995, Dr. Billingsley went on to work in Northwest Arkansas as a comprehensive ophthalmologist. In 2003, Dr. Billingsley became owner, President, and ophthalmologist at Ozark Laser and Surgery Center and Billingsley Eye Practice and Clinic in Springdale and Siloam Springs. As owner and President, Dr. Billingsley managed day-to-day tasks throughout his practice while simultaneously providing exceptional eye care for his patients and being the highest-volume surgeon at Siloam Springs Memorial Hospital.  

In 2013, Dr. Billingsley joined the Northwest Health Eye Clinic staff in Siloam Spring as an ophthalmologist, expanding services beyond cataract/anterior segment surgery and oculoplastics to medical retina procedures including laser and anti-VEGF injections. Today, Dr. Billingsley serves patients at Vold Vision’s clinic in Bentonville. 

Dr. Billingsley is married and a father of four adult children, all living in the Northwest Arkansas community. As an alumnus of the University, he is a committed Arkansas Razorback fan who also enjoys golfing, fitness, and weightlifting in his spare time.
